Books That Didn’t Make The Bible and Why—Led by Bob Rev. Sandman

How did Christians decide which books got into the New Testament?  What about all the ones that didn’t?  Should we care about them?  Session I explains the process of deciding which books were considered essential and which were not.  Session II looks at the Gospel of Thomas as a case study for inclusion/exclusion from the Scriptures.

Sunday, February 21  (sponsored by Christian Witness)

DVD:  Beyond our Differences—A PBS Film—With Guest Tabassum A. Haleem

This DVD is everything you would expect from Bill Moyers.  The harmonious voices from so many parts of the world and so many beliefs were insightful and hopeful.  In a world that often seems out of control and nonsensical, Beyond Our Differences reassures us that religious leaders are working to bridge the huge cultural gaps in our world to find the common humanity.  Tabassum will expand on our knowledge about Muslims.

Sunday, March 7  9:00-2:00 PM

Women’s Retreat—Seven Bridges Signature Room Banquet Hall in Woodridge

Our women have been meeting each spring for over thirty years.  It’s our chance to form new friendships and shape our faith.  Invite your friends to come along this year for a beautiful breakfast, lively program and inspiring worship.

Sundays, March 14 & 21 (2 sessions)
