Mens Golf League has been in existence for more than twenty years. It is open to anyone that would like to play golf on Monday morning. We currently have about 20 golfers and normally we have between 10 and 15 golfers on any given Monday. At the beginning of the year a list of active players is published assigning responsibilities to a player for picking a course, making tee time arrangements and finding out how many players want to play on the following Monday. The responsibility also includes finding a place for the group to have lunch. Each player will be assigned two or three weeks of golf responsibility in a year. Golfers do not have to be church members to join this group; several of our golfers are friends of church members. Call Len Johnson (630) 964-8720 if you want to join the group or if you would just like to play with us some Monday morning.
Mens Racquetball was formed in the mid-1970’s. When it was formed, we had about 8 players. In those days, racquetball was very popular and it was hard to reserve a court when you wanted to play. Forming this league allowed us to reserve permanent court time, which was, and still is 7:30 p.m. on Monday evenings. We play year round and switch between singles (two players), doubles (four players) and cutthroat (three players), depending on how many players show up. We play at Westmont Health Core, 424 Plaza Drive, Westmont, IL 60559. The cost is $5.00 per person and membership is not required. There was a time when we had a Women’s Racquetball League and we would certainly entertain that again. We currently have four active participants and we encourage new players. If anyone is interested in trying it out, please call Ted Rock (630) 886-5499 or Dirk Gutzke (630) 632-5890.
