PLEDGING PROCESS

Making a pledge is simple; all you have to do is decide the frequency, amount, and method of payment.  Then you convey that information to the church bookkeeper.

Recording your pledge:  A pledge card is available here or from the church. If you wish to pay on a monthly basis through automatic deductions from your checking account, fill out an auto-debit form.  If you cannot print the pledge card or the auto-debit form, just pick one up at the church office or request that one be mailed to you.

Frequency:  You may choose to pledge weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually, depending on your preferred method of payment (see below).
Payment method:  If you choose to pay your pledge weekly or monthly, you may choose to put a check or cash in preprinted weekly or monthly envelopes that will be provided by the church and place the envelopes in the collection plate when you attend a service, or mail them to the church when you cannot attend a service.  Or, you may choose to use the auto-debit system set up by the church so that your pledge is automatically transferred at the end of each month (note: this form of payment can only be done on a monthly basis) from your checking account to the church’s account, thereby keeping your pledge always current even during times when you are unable to attend some services (e.g., summer vacation trips).  Just fill out the auto-debit form, print it, and turn it in at church or mail it in—don’t forget to keep a copy for your records.  If you choose to fulfill your pledge by quarterly payments or on an annual basis, you can either use the all-purpose envelopes usually available in the pews or provide an envelope yourself, and either put it into the collection plate or mail it to the church.  If you do choose quarterly or annual payments, please be sure to clearly identify yourself with the payment so that the bookkeeper can properly credit your pledge.

Whether you choose to use the pledge card or the auto-debit form to record your pledge, please remember to check that your calculation of your periodic (weekly, monthly, or quarterly) pledge adds up to the total that you wish to pledge for the year.  Also, please be sure to include your daytime phone and your current email address, so that the bookkeeper may contact you for clarification if necessary.  Finally, don’t forget to keep a copy of your pledge for your records.
