Music at First Congregational United Church of Christ
Chancel Choir
Chancel Choir is open to high school students and all adults. Chancel Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:30 -9:15 p.m. under the direction of Kevin Ballard, Director of Music Ministries & Organist/Choirmaster (orgelknab@sbcglobal.net or 630-768-6293). This choir sings an average of three Sundays a month at the 9:00 a.m. service and at other special services. No audition is required! New members are always welcome.
Anacrusis Ringers
Anacrusis Ringers is a high school-aged and adult handbell ensemble of intermediate/advanced ringers that rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 8:00-9:00 p.m. under the direction of Kevin Ballard. This ensemble provides music at the 9:00 a.m. service approximately once a month.
If you are interested in learning to play handbells, please contact Kevin for free private lessons. This is a great way to learn about ringing without the pressure of an ensemble setting.
Harps Angelica
Lessons every other Tuesday morning are being offered in the chapel for $15.00 a person. If there is a need, lesson time might be adjusted to accommodate new and interested players. FCC owns one harp that is currently not in use. We would love to have others interested come and be a part of our group. Fellowship Choir
Fellowship Choir is open to those in grades 7-12 under the leadership of Jann Mochelle (630-968-1516 or curlietop333@comcast.net). This group rehearses from 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings in the Chapel beginning on September 16 and ends in time to regularly attend or participate in the Sunday Celebration Service. This group sings approximately every 4-6 weeks during the 10:45 Sunday Celebration service and at select 9:00 a.m. services. This group rehearses weekly unless it is a religious or school holiday.
Jr. Choir and Tintinnabulators
If you are in 1st -6th grade and love to sing you should join Junior Choir. We have a great time learning music that praises God. Junior Choir will be presenting another fabulous musical in the spring giving you an opportunity to show off your acting, singing and dancing ability. Junior Choir meets on Sundays, 10:15-11:00 a.m. under the direction of Maria Carini, Assistant Director of Music (mcarin1m@aol.com or at 708-655-5179.).
Now, if you’re not a singer, but love to play instruments, you should join the Tintinnabulators (Tins) handbell ensemble. Our Tins group starts with 4th graders and older. We meet on Sundays, 11:00-11:30 a.m. New members are always welcome!

Cherub Choir
Our youngest singers have the opportunity to learn and present songs of the church in late November or early December and in May under the leadership of Peggy Gutzke (630-971-1382) and rehearse seasonally.
